Llamamos ROIP (Radio Over IP o Radio sobre IP) a la integración de radios convencionales con la telefonía IP, convencional y telefonía móvil. Las soluciones de RoIP vinculan sistemas aislados tales como la Radio convencional analógica con la Telefonía. En lo más básico, un sistema ROIP está compuesto por una emisora VHF ó UHF, un servidor Telefónico o centralita IP (con Asterisk, por ejemplo), y un Gateway o adaptador que permite integrar ambos mundos.
